Tuli Dake
Inventor, with over 30 patents and a Technologist at Texas Instruments (TI)
Tuli Dake is a proud alumnus of Mawuli School (1982-89) who received his Electrical Engineering BS degree from KNUST in Ghana and his Microelectronics MS from Texas A&M University (TAMU), USA.
He is currently a Distinguished Technologist at Texas Instruments (TI), a recognition no more than 1 in 1000 engineers have. TI is one of the largest Micro-Chip producers in the world, that has its micro-chips in almost anything electronic. He has managed multi-national Design teams with locations in India, China and US.
As a voracious innovator with over 30 patents, he has driven many Firsts that have propelled the Micro-Chip industry and influenced lives. Some real-life products his innovations have helped develop can be found in Smart Phones, EarPods, Car Safety systems, Communication satellites and Computers. His work has generated over 10 billion dollars in revenue.
Tuli’s contributions to the Micro-Chip industry goes beyond TI. He has designed over 110 micro-chips, help define key industry standards and regularly reviews/authors IEEE papers. This includes been a key-note speaker at IEEE conference in Brazil on micro-chip designs for nascent markets. Besides industry, he has made major contributions to micro-chip design in academia. Tuli has influenced research at Georgia Tech, Iowa State & Texas A&M. Tuli was a key architect of a Ghana University recruiting program and engaged with other multi-national high-tech companies like National Instruments, Cadence, Dell and MOSIS to create the Micro-electronic design Lab at KNUST in Ghana. Lab produced the First micro-chips from a university in sub-Saharan Africa. For this, he received the Distinguished KNUST alumnus award. His work in Ghana has led to several hires across the Micro-Chip industry.
He works in industry and academia has elevated him to become a Senior IEEE member. A recognition less than 1% of Electrical/Electronic engineers worldwide receive. IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers) is the preeminent body world-wide boasting over half a million engineers in about 200 countries.
Has also received the award of “US Black Engineer of the Year” award in the Modern Tech Leader category.
